By accessing or using CryptoPaste (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1) What CryptoPaste Is

  • CryptoPaste lets you share a secret one time. Your browser encrypts the secret (AES-GCM) before upload; the server stores only ciphertext. The decryption key is embedded in the URL fragment (#…) so the server never receives it.
  • The Service is designed for one-time reveal. If a link is expired or already used, the secret will not be available.

2) Eligibility & Acceptable Use

  • You may use the Service only if you have the legal capacity to do so and in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.
  • You must not use the Service to store, transmit, or share: (a) illegal content; (b) malware or harmful code; (c) content that infringes others’ rights; (d) personal data without lawful basis or consent; or (e) secrets you are not authorized to share.
  • You agree not to abuse, interfere with, or disrupt the Service (including rate-limits, automated scraping, or attempts to bypass one-time reveal).

3) Security & Your Responsibilities

  • We use client-side encryption to help protect your secret, but no security measure is perfect. You are responsible for the security of your devices, network, and the secret link once generated.
  • Be aware that URL fragments (#…) may appear in local browser history or be exposed if you screen-share the full link.
  • Use the Service only over secure connections and trusted devices; avoid pasting secrets into untrusted environments.

4) Content, Removal, and Retention

  • Secrets are stored only as ciphertext and are intended to expire after the selected timeframe or one-time retrieval.
  • We may remove content and/or restrict access if we reasonably believe these Terms or the law are violated.

5) Privacy

  • Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we process and why.

6) Availability & Changes to the Service

  • The Service may change, suspend, or discontinue at any time without notice. Features may vary by browser or region.
  • We may update these Terms occasionally. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent change. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

7) Intellectual Property

  • The CryptoPaste name, branding, and site content are protected by applicable IP laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivatives except as permitted by law.

8) Third-Party Links & Tools

  • The site may reference third-party tools or links (e.g., password managers or secure messaging apps). We do not control or endorse third-party sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.

9) Donations & Cryptocurrency

  • Donations are voluntary and non-refundable. Cryptocurrency transfers are irreversible and may be volatile; ensure you send to the correct address.

10) Disclaimers

  • The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor that the Service will meet your security needs in every scenario.

11) Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or any loss of data, secrets, goodwill, or profits, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
  • Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount (if any) you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim (excluding voluntary donations).

12) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Courts located in Bacau shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
